This cute little Dalmation puppy figurine is by Artesania Rinconada of Montevideo, Uruguay. He is smaller than most Artesania Rinconada figurines - he might be part of the Rincababy line - and is only 2" tall by 1-1/2" wide. Artesania Rinconada ceramic figurines are recognizable by their combination of matte pottery with glossy fired details. In this dog's case, he has a glossy black nose and tan or light brown eyes. Be careful, though - there are many imitators. Artesania Rinconada pieces are marked with an "AR" carved on the underside.
Artesania Rinconada was started by Jesus and Javier Carbajales in the early 1970s. The company is now led by Jorge De Rosa Thompson.
