Guest Dog - Cocoa, a Beautiful Akita Mix

Beautiful Cocoa, an Akita mix ... and a good friend!

West Highland Terrier Night Light

Wonderful West Highland White Terrier night light with whimsical artwork!

The entire piece is approximately 4-1/4" x 2-1/2", with the copper rimmed artwork itself 3" square.

The white "Westie" is beautifully depicted with white fur, black nose and pink tongue - gorgeous when illuminated ... or not!

This was a gift and I don't know the brand or maker.

Blue & White Enamel Snoopy Pin c.1960s

This blue and white enamel pin is of the beloved Charles M. Schulz creation - Snoopy! Snoopy was Charlie Brown's pet Beagle and a main character of Mr. Schulz' Peanuts comic strip.

There is plenty of information available about Peanuts and Snoopy, but I like the Schulz Museum's website and the large, informative section on Wikipedia.

The pin is undated, but I believe it to be from the late 1950s or early 1960s.

This colorful dancing Snoopy always makes me smile!

Black Greyhound or Whippet Pin with Rhinestone Collar

Large, beautiful black pin in the shape of a sleek Whippet or Greyhound!
This gorgeous dog pin, is approximately 2-1/2" tall x 1" wide. It is metal, with a matte black finish, with six tiny rhinestones adding some shimmer at the collar. The vintage piece is unmarked as to maker or metal content.

One of my favorite websites for figural dog jewelry is the Dog Jewelry Museum. There is a similar pin in the Dog Jewelry Museum, however, it is a matte gold rather than black.

This is a beauty, from the tip of its pointed nose to the end of its tail!

Poodle Figurine from Austria

Wonderful vintage ceramic figurine from Austria!

This large white poodle figurine is approximately 7-1/4" tall x 8" long x 3-1/2". It is ceramic with a glossy finish - white with gray shading, black eyes and nose and pink tongue. The "fur" is nicely detailed, as are the paws.

The piece is marked "Made in Austria" on one foot, with a U-shaped mark on another foot. If anyone knows what the mark stands for, please tell me - I'd love to know!

Royal Doulton Book - Dog Figurines

This is an excerpt from a charming vintage spiral bound book, Royal Doulton Figurines, c. 1961. The book is a great reference for Royal Doulton collectors, and has photos of many figurines and their famous Toby mugs. I particularly like these two facing pages that show their dog figurines.
