Carved Beagle by Ralph Shoop

Beautiful little carved Beagle dog by Ralph Shoop.  I love the expression on the little dog's face!  The carving is dated 1991.  I've done a little research on Mr. Shoop, and believe that he was from Maryland, however, I have not been able to find out much more about him or his work.

Snoopy in San Francisco Dangle Earrings

We loved these vintage Snoopy earrings the moment we saw them!

The earrings are each approximately 3/4" tall x 1/2" wide; they are multicolored cloisonne style enamel. Oddly, one earring is silver tone; the other is gold tone - I purchased together and this is the first time I've noticed that they are a different metal! Snoopy, that cute Peanuts beagle, is laying on top of a San Franciso cable car ... in the same manner that he is usually seen lounging on top of his dog house.

These are United Features, Aviva Taiwan.

The Playful Little Dog - A Wonder Book Featuring Archie, a Boston Terrier

This adorable book was written by Jean Horton Berg and beautifully illustrated by Maurice Robertson.   The book is copyrighted 1951; this version is from 1983.  In the story, Archie - a cuter than cute Boston Terrier - and his family move from a "no dogs allowed" apartment building to a home in the suburbs.   This is the story of Archie and his new friend - a large boxer with a big bark.

Handmade Ceramic Wall Plaque - Girl with Dog

A ceramic wall plaque made by my own talented sister (in her younger days)! The handmade ceramic plaque features an old-fashioned scene of a young girl playing with a hoop and stick, while her dog plays alongside.

Hagen Renaker figurines are wonderful and I particularly like this little vintage Scotty dog miniature - the coloring is outstanding, down to a touch of pink on the inside of his ears.

This vintage Scotty is approximately 3-1/4" tall x 2-1/2" long x 1-1/2" wide. He is formed of blue slag glass with an iridescence that looks gold when the light hits.

The little Scottie is standing with front paws on a step. One ear is erect; the other is folded over.

The South Park Song

We're going to the park to have some fun
We're going to the park so Sunny can run
We're going to the park to get some fresh air
Maybe we'll see a buffalo there!

************

We went to the park and had some fun
We went to the park and Sunny did run
We went to the park and got some fresh air
And we saw a chipmunk there!

Dodds Rhinestone Figural Dog Pin c1950s

Very cute rhinestone pin by Dodds!

The figural pin is about 1-3/4" tall x 1-1/2" wide. It is silver toned metal with a pebbled surface (to simulate rhinestones) and black rhinestone eyes and collar. The piece is undated, but I believe it to be from the mid to late 1950s.

Cibby, a Michael Ricker Pewter Sculpture

Cibby (#9276) is a wonderful Michael Ricker pewter casting and a 1985 Collector's Society Special Edition. According to the January 1986 catalog, the sculptures in this series were designed especially for the Ricker-Barlett Collector's Society, and sculptures in the series were only available for purchase by members.

"Cibby" is approximately 3-1/2" x 3-1/4" x 1". In this lovely sculpture, a young girl and her dog are skiing downhill - the dog even has his feet firming planted on the skis, also, with ears flying back!
According to the catalog, "Cibby is named for Michael and Doreen Ricker's daughter-in-law, Cibby Hunt ..."
Michael Ricker passed away in January 2006.

Stone Critters Blonde Cocker Spaniel

This beautiful blonde Cocker Spaniel figurine is one of United Design Company's Stone Critters - he is a large version and stands 4" tall, and is style number SC-085. Stone Critters are made in the U.S.A.; I believe this piece dates from about 1985.
